HOMAGE TO HOME

250 James Street South, Hamilton, Ontario
I will always have a special place in my heart for 250 James Street South when we move out next month. Below is a homage to one of the FRESHEST pieces of brick I have ever had the honor of owning. Thanks for capturing it in all its glory, Tom Vogel.

  1. I walked and driven by your home hundreds of times. I started to appreciate Hamilton architecture when I moved to 39 Herkimer and the old mansion on the corner of McNab and Herkimer. These one of a kind homes had their day long long ago. But yours seemed to survive the times. Wonderful interiors. I like the way wallpaper and was used too. Thank you for sharing photos with us.

    1. Happy to have shared Nadine. I have admired 39 Herkimer myself. I have caught a glimpse of exquisite plaster crown moldings while on evening walks with my pug. Love the preservation of 250 James...a total time capsule. Will be hard to leave but our new home offers its own unique character details. Excited for that new chapter...

  4. A gentleman named John Grant owned this home for many years but it has changed hands a few times since he moved out. He put his heart and soul into it.
