MELROSE (is the) PLACE (to be)

56 Melrose Ave S, Hamilton, ON c. 1915

I can't help a throw back to Melrose Place, Aaron Spelling's guilty pleasure 90s drama, every time I see this address. 56 Melrose Avenue South is also a throwback but try adding another 75 years. And when it comes to DRAMA there is equal parallel but in character details Vs. character ordeals.

This stately 2952 square foot centre hall knock out features
spacious room sizes, a main floor gas fireplace and abundant built-ins.

And you'll be pleased to know the original pantry still exists between the beautifully updated kitchen (with Wolf gas range) and the dining room. Adjacent to the the pantry space is a two-piece powder room convenient for family get togethers and formal entertaining.

Since last being sold eight years ago, the owners have converted one of the original (four) second floor bedrooms to create a spaciously luxurious five piece bathroom complete with a modern soaker tub, huge over-sized glass shower and heated porcelain floors.

The top level is a separate In-law set up. This is a (legal) single-family home but the space is ideal for someone who wants to use it for a family member. The space includes an additional bedroom or family room PLUS a four piece bathroom with the original re-glazed claw foot tub.

In terms of the exterior, the backyard is a stunning low maintenance paradise with perennial gardens and a spacious deck. There is also a double car garage (with alley access) at the back of the property with a staircase to a loft area for extra storage. Additional double car parking is available at the front of the house.
